Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a cabinet meeting, following the resignations of himself and his ministers. Kurti stated that he argued that this meeting is permissible, even mandatory under the law. The acting Prime Minister underlined that he will not allow the creation of an institutional vacuum. He also added that he is ready to form a new government.
"More than that, it is not possible to resign, more than that would be abandoning the institution. It is a request and insistence, reckless, leaving the house without a homeowner. As the undisputed winners, we are very interested in moving forward towards the formation of institutions. As the incumbent government, we are very careful not to allow an institutional vacuum. The constitution of the Assembly yesterday was made impossible because the opposition parties did not vote for the verification of the mandates. In particular, those who did not accept to formally take the mandate of the deputy are asking me not to formally be prime minister," Kurti declared.
