Elections in Kosovo, Serbian parties without a plan for the integration of their

The Serbian political parties competing in the February 9 elections in Kosovo do not have any concrete programs regarding the integration of their community into state institutions, but also to improve their well-being.

According to the observations of the local election monitoring mission, Democracy in Action, the campaign of 6 Serbian political entities is focused on opposing the actions of the Kosovo Government, such as the closure of parallel institutions.

Meanwhile, the Vetëvendosje Movement uses the north as one of its strong points for respect for the law and the extension of sovereignty.

"A positive aspect of these elections is the political pluralism among the Serbian community, where unlike other years, now for the first time 6 political parties are competing. All six are very active with meetings and on social networks. However, none of them have a concrete program on how they will integrate Serbs, for development, but only campaign against each other and against the Kurti Government," said Dushan Radakovic.

The electoral campaign has now entered its final phase and its intensity is increasing day by day with meetings of various formats. The campaign is considered calm, except for the protest in Skenderaj against the Vetevendosje Movement rally, while the parties still continue with inciting and hate speech.

During these three weeks, the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals has issued a total of 133 decisions regarding complaints for violations of election campaign rules, while it has imposed a total of over 432 thousand euros for legal violations of the Code of Ethics.

"The Democratic League received the most fines with a fine of 113,500 euros, followed by the Vetëvendosje Movement with 101,500 euros, the Democratic Party with 87 thousand euros, the Alliance with 69,700 euros, and then several small parties," says Violeta Haxhiu from Democracy in Action.

Education, economy and wages, infrastructure, social welfare, culture, youth and sports are the top five topics and issues addressed during campaign speeches. According to Democracy in Action data, there is a significant increase in the number of posts on social networks as well as the funds spent.

Around 3,000 sponsored posts worth over 50,000 euros have been identified in the last seven days alone, which represents a tripling of the number of posts and a doubling of the cost spent, compared to the first week of the campaign. (A2 Televizion)
