The German ambassador in Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, said that it is a strong guarantee of NATO, the possibility of the permanent increase of the military presence in Kosovo, after the terrorist attack in Banjska.
He also underlined that it is important to have security in the north. He recommended the Government of Kosovo to form the association as soon as possible, as it normalizes relations with Serbia.
"The Prime Minister has publicly stated that this latest proposal presented by the EU has been carefully written according to the Constitution of Kosovo, and I am 100 percent sure that we are not doing anything that is contrary to the Constitution of Kosovo. Kosovo is an independent state and we fully support Kosovo, and (the Association) should be established as soon as possible, the better, and then we can take a big step forward in the process of normalization with Serbia... NATO is reacting to this attack terrorist in Banjska to provide security, especially in the north. And again, what everyone has said, and I had my Western Balkan regional ambassadors here, and one of my colleagues went to Banjska from Berlin. It is important to improve security in the north. NATO is part of the equation, the Kosovo Police has done a very good job there, and we fully support it."
