Calls to strengthen Kosovo-Albania ties dominated the activity organized by the Albanian embassy in Pristina in honor of the 111th anniversary of independence.
The Ambassador of Albania in Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, stated that the history of independence is not complete without acknowledging the contribution and sacrifices of the Albanians of Kosovo for the national issue.
"As we look to the future, let's build it on the legacy of our ancestors, let's continue to strengthen the ties between Albania and Kosovo as two brother states already with clear Euro-Atlantic orientations in coordination with our allies by promoting comprehensive cooperation in education, in culture, in economy, in governance," said Petrit Malaj, Albania's ambassador to Kosovo.
President Vjosa Osmani said that Albania has transformed into a modern state, while as a member of NATO it is contributing to the peace and stability of the Western Balkans.
"Our two countries, the Republic of Kosovo and that of Albania, today develop alongside each other, exchanging experiences, knowledge, and supporting each other. We have the same goals, integration into the European Union and the further consolidation of our countries. Kosovo and Albania are part of a common journey towards Euro-Atlantic integration. We share a strong, common desire to help each other achieve our goals and make this region a better place for everyone." , said President Vjosa Osmani.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti, recalling the Serbian massacres against the Albanians and the difficulties until the declaration of independence of Albania, said that geopolitics has remained the same as 111 years ago, but the Albanians today are more powerful.
"Compared to November 28 of the last century, geopolitics has remained almost the same, but we are much more powerful. Let's first congratulate on this 111th anniversary our power on this high date of the Albanian nation. Let's work, earn and celebrate together, in every field and place, all the time without dividing it," said Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Representatives of all political parties, diplomatic corps accredited in Kosovo and other dignitaries from various fields also participated in this ceremony in Pristina. (A2 Televizion)
