"Serbs should take our passports to move freely", Kosovo against EC

Albin Kurti's government opposes the European Commission's proposal to waive visas even for Kosovo Serbs who have Serbian passports.

Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi said that this is something unacceptable since the means of identification are illegal.

"Illegal passports issued by the Coordination Center of Serbia consider the municipalities within Kosovo to be part of Serbia's jurisdiction, this is a violation of our sovereignty," writes government official Kurti.

Bislimi adds that this proposal undermines the integration of the Serbian community and violates the dialogue agreements for the elimination of these illegal structures in Serbia.

"The Serbian community in Kosovo has not been left without visa liberalization, as they can be equipped with regular passports issued by Kosovo which enable visa-free travel", confirms the Deputy Prime Minister.

Among other things, Bislimi informs that for Serbs an accelerated procedure is applied for equipment with passports and this year there was a 29 percent increase in applications from this community. (A2 Televizion)
