The multinational exercise "Defender Europe '25" officially kicked off today in the early hours of the morning in Albania.
Sharing footage from the start of the exercise on social media, Prime Minister Edi Rama described it as one of the largest of the last decade. According to him, Albania plays a strategic role in guaranteeing the success of planned operations and developments.
"This exercise is conducted under the leadership of the US European Command (EUCOM), in close cooperation with NATO allies and partners. Albania, as one of the main host countries, plays a strategic role in ensuring the success of the planned operations and developments," Rama writes, reports A2 CNN.
The head of government emphasized that "Defender Europe '25" aims to increase interoperability between allied armed forces, strengthen military readiness and the ability to react quickly to any potential threat in the Euro-Atlantic space."
Albanian Land Force troops departed in the early hours of this morning, from the Zall-Herri garrison towards the Biza Training Center, marking the official start of the joint exercise "Defender Europe '25".
