The OSCE Presence in Albania has reacted to the reported incidents against journalists during the May 11 election process.
In an official statement, the OSCE expresses its concern about the cases of intimidation and obstacles that journalists have encountered before, during and after the elections.
" We reiterate the vital importance of media freedom as a cornerstone of democracy ," the statement said, which also highlighted the OSCE's commitment to supporting efforts to protect journalists and ensure a safe and open environment for the media in Albania.
The organization expresses its readiness to assist the Albanian authorities and relevant actors in fulfilling international commitments within the framework of the OSCE, to guarantee a media space where freedom of expression and the safety of media professionals prevail. (A2 Televizion)
