At Wednesday's General Audience in the Vatican, the bishop of the Diocese of Rrëshen, Monsignor Gjergj Meta, met with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.
During this meeting, Archbishop Meta expressed to the Holy Father his heartfelt congratulations on his election as the Successor of Saint Peter, on behalf of the bishops and the entire Catholic Church in Albania.
He also invited Pope Leo XIV to visit Albania, conveying the great desire of the Albanian faithful to welcome the Holy Father to our country.
The bishop informed the Pope that last Sunday, together with the Albanian Catholic community in Italy, they had participated in a special prayer for him at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Genazzano – a beloved place for Albanian believers. (A2 Televizion)
