An important event in the field of medicine will take place in Tirana on May 2, 3 and 4, 2025. For the first time in Albania, the University of Medicine will organize the First International Congress of Health Sciences, a major activity that aims to create a collaboration platform for the academic and scientific community at home and abroad.
The Rector of the University of Medicine, Prof. Xheladin Draçini, in an exclusive statement for the "Diagnozë" show on A2 CNN, emphasized the importance of this congress and the benefits it will bring to healthcare professionals and relevant institutions.
"The idea for organizing this congress was born as a response to the need to build a solid platform where the scientific and academic community, local and international, has the opportunity to present research results, exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in the field of Health Sciences," said Prof. Draçini.
He added that the main goal of the congress is to strengthen the connection between scientific research and clinical practice, to foster inter-institutional and international cooperation, and to promote an active academic culture that addresses current challenges of the healthcare system.
At this congress, which will be held at the Pyramid premises in Tirana, several important medical and scientific topics will be presented.
"Among the main topics are: research in public health, innovation in diagnostics and therapy, new technologies in medicine, management of chronic diseases. There was a high number of abstracts and presentations at this Congress, around 600. Which shows a high interest" - said the rector of UMT.
The Congress is expected to serve as an important step towards the internationalization of Albanian medical research, setting a new precedent in the development of health sciences in Albania. At least 34 foreign professors have confirmed their participation. (A2 Televizion)
