The Slavic-Orthodox peoples who have ambitions for Albanian lands and their extermination are the ones who incite Albanian-phobia in the Balkan region. This response was given in the Daily with Bruna Çifligu, by analyst Selam Shkodra on A2 CNN, after the nationalist and xenophobic calls against Albanians, made during a basketball match held in Kumanovo. According to him, the Albanian factor is problematic for them
"Undoubtedly, they are the peoples or elements of the Orthodox Slavic peoples who have consistently had ambitions for Albanian lands and spaces and for the expulsion and extermination of Albanians from their centuries-old lands. Albanian identity in Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro and other parts of the countries of the Balkan region is not disputed and this is problematic for a number of peoples for the great question of Macedonian identity, which has consistently problematic the factorization and sustainability of the Albanian factor in the RMV."
Asked whether Albanian-phobia has faded, Shkodra denied such a thing and said that it has only changed shape due to the increased weight of the Albanian factor in the region.
"I think that Albanian-phobia has changed shape, I don't think it has faded, it has been camouflaged and packaged due to the increasing weight of the Albanian factor in the region, since Albania is a member of NATO and Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state and the Albanian factor in Macedonia is managing to be present day by day in the political life and institutions of North Macedonia. These are some factors so that there is no direct attack, but indirect actions that aspire to harm the Albanian factor in the region," Shkodra said on A2 CNN.
