Present at the Media Forum for Southeast Europe, which takes place in Tirana, Prime Minister Edi Rama also commented on the details of the agreement with Italy for refugees.
While talking about the role of the media and journalists, the prime minister accused the latter of having distorted the words of his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni about the category of refugees that will be selected to be brought to Albania.
"I have to answer the question about the danger that may come to Albania by bringing here 3000 African men. It was never like that. When the Prime Minister of Italy explained it, she said that pregnant women and minors will not be included in the program. Because of their condition. They will be picked up and taken immediately where they will be given immediate help."
However, the prime minister still did not clarify whether the refugees who will come will be only men, or there will also be women.
We recall that Italy will build two migrant management centers in Albania, which, when fully operational, will be able to manage an "annual flow of 36,000 people".
Rama stated earlier that the agreement started to be conceived last August during Meloni's vacation in Dhërmi, but after it was made public, the head of the government gave details mainly only to the Italian media. (A2 Televizion)
