The 7-year vetting of prosecutors and judges was considered a success story by international partners. In the closing activity of the Commissions for the reevaluation of judges and prosecutors, the USA and the EU supported the decisions given which removed more than 250 magistrates from the system.

The head of the European Union delegation, Silvio Gonzato, gave credit to the vetting process, as one of the factors that brought Albania to the negotiating table to become part of the EU.

"What has been done here in Albania has been unprecedented and I believe that it has been a real process of resistance and professionalism that you have shown during these 7 years. I do not believe that I am exaggerating when I say that you were among the main contributors to the opening of the first set of negotiation chapters", said Silvio Gonzato.

The closing of the 7-year term of the special commissions, passes the continuation of the process at the KLGJ, KLP and SPAK, where for the latter, in charge of work at the American embassy, there were more minutes and evaluations asking for the continuation of corruption issues with sensitivity high in Albania.

"There has been a lot of resistance to the justice reform and this resistance continues to this day in some countries. Commissioners and judges have made great sacrifices, professional and personal, taking unpopular decisions. They have shown immense courage. The Albanian people must know that corrupt officials are being held accountable and this will continue thanks to the work of brave Albanians like you. Everyone should be proud. "SPAK must continue to investigate the most sensitive corruption cases, holding accountable those who have abused their positions, regardless of politics and favoritism", said Nancy.

SPAK has become a symbol of justice reform, at least in recent years. Altin Dumani assured his partners that he will continue on the same path.

"7 years is not little, but the Reform in Justice was transformative to describe one of the most comprehensive processes, to bring Albanian citizens a fair and professional justice system. KPK and KPA have set with their example a cornerstone on which justice institutions would be built. Impunity is being shaken today. The road confronts us every day with new challenges, which have neither scared us nor overwhelmed us", said Dumani.

During these 7 years, the first level of vetting dismissed 268 magistrates and confirmed 373 others. (A2 Televizion)
