"No one has been poisoned by salmonella-tainted fillets", AKU

The Director of Risk Management at the National Institute of Health, Martin Jorgaqi, invited to the "Ditar" studio with Andi Nuraj, on A2 CNN, stated that there have been no cases of hospitalizations from the salmonella-contaminated chicken that has entered our country.

"The total quantity was 27 tons with one of the two most dangerous salmonellas known. We managed to return a significant amount of this product. We have returned more than 50% of 7.9 tons of this product. The subject who brought and released this product on the market, rightly or not, I cannot say because the matter is being investigated, but the AKU has made it possible to find out where the product was distributed," said Jorgaqi.

According to him, "salmonella is the second most common food-borne disease in the world" and added that no person has been hospitalized in our country.

"19 European countries have not been able to avoid outbreaks in their countries, while here it has become problematic because meat has entered. For the entire quantity we are talking about, which has been entering for 10 days, today the hospitals should be full because salmonella causes problems for 2-4 days. We have no one in the hospital, we only have media noise. The outbreak is when people eat the same product and get sick," said Jorgaqi.

Regarding the rumors of the merger of the AKU, Jorgaqi explained: "The AKU will be in line with the veterinary service, with the plant protection service and fishing. This is done so that there is no interruption in traceability." (A2 Televizion)
