The emergence of another case of meningitis in Durrës has caused concern among parents who have been reluctant to send their children to school in recent days.
But Public Health specialists say there is no room for panic. Doctor Silva Bino explains that all measures have been taken to avoid the spread of the disease.
"Meningitis is sporadic. Since 2009, children have been vaccinated. There is no connection to a previous case. We have carried out antibiotic prophylaxis for 99 people, for close members, to prevent further spread. There is no need to panic. Follow the advice of doctors. The vaccine is not the main tool when we have a case, but antibiotic prophylaxis," says Bino. (A2 Televizion)
