Parents of students at the 9-year-old schools "Eftali Koçi" and "Kushtrimi i lirisë" in Durrës have been refusing to send their children to school for two days.
The case of meningitis diagnosed in a 14-year-old student has greatly alarmed parents, who are demanding that institutions disinfect the school, which has not happened so far. At the "Eftali Koçi" school, students from two schools develop the learning process, for this reason the alarm spread among parents is even greater.
Parents claim that they are determined not to send their children to school due to the risk posed by meningitis and do not feel safe with the prophylactic measures recommended by Primary Care epidemiologists alone.
Unlike what happened months ago, when the "Leonik Tomeo" high school was disinfected after a 17-year-old girl was diagnosed with acute meningitis, the same procedure was not implemented in the case of a few days ago. Meanwhile, sources from local health institutions claim that there is no room for panic and no new cases have been identified. (A2 Televizion)
