The European Political Community Summit will take place in Tirana on May 16. For the smooth running of this event, the State Police has taken a series of measures, including blocking roads and diverting traffic on some of them.
The blockade begins on the evening of May 14, from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, where vehicle movement will not be allowed from the "Mother Teresa" Rinas Airport, the crossing on the "Tirana-Durrës" highway, the former "Eagle" Square, the area of "Pallati me shigjeta" - the roundabout of the old Sauk - Elbasani Road and up to the "Plaza" Hotel where the delegation is staying. Security measures have also been taken at the other border crossing points of Hani i Hotit and Morinë.
This same road axis, from Rinas to Tirana, and then to "Skënderbej" Square, the designated location for the activity, will have a complete traffic blockade from 08:00-24:00, writes A2.
Meanwhile, on the day of the Summit, on May 16, from 06:00 to 18:00, the entire perimeter of the square where the activity will take place will not be allowed for vehicles and pedestrians. The roads connecting to Skanderbeg Square, from the intersection with “Jeanne d'Arc” Boulevard to the intersection with “Myslym Shyri” Street, “Ibrahim Rrugova” Street to the intersection with “Dëshmorët e Kombi” Boulevard and then on Kavajës Street, Barricade Street, to the intersection with “George W. Bush” Street and “Zogu i I” Boulevard to the “former Circus” tunnel, will be impassable.
On these roads, the passage of vehicles and pedestrians has been diverted. On the 16th, from 13:00-18:00, there will be a complete blockage of vehicle movement on the road axis from "Skënderbej Square", George W. Bush Street, Elbasani Street - Old Sauk Roundabout - New Ring Road, Astir side, to Rinas Airport.
At the time of the delegation's passage, these roads will be blocked on both sides.
For vehicles, the passage to Rinas will be made from the secondary roads of the "Tirana-Qafë Kashar - Rinas" highway, as well as from the Northern Ring Road, the branch of "Paskuqan - Institut - Kamëz - Domje - Laknas".
Entrance and exit to the "Shefqet Ndroqi" hospital, near the Sanatorium, will occasionally have deviations according to the delegations' schedules.
No vehicle parking will be allowed on the blocked roads, as well as underground parking at "Skenderbeg" Square.
Also on May 16, on the roads blocked by the police that connect to the venue of the activity, there will be diversions for the passage of vehicles from 08:00 to 11:00. (A2 Televizion)
