The Durrës Beach Promenade area was the next stop for Prime Minister Edi Rama in the course of his inspections of the city. The promenade from Dajlan Bridge to the Cavalry Building is undergoing rehabilitation and the new face it will take on will give more value to both homes, hotels and other businesses in the area.
"We are in two construction sites that are located in parallel. One is the continuation of the promenade which closes the promenade part. A part of the promenade together with the activities part along the promenade, the greenery. While it also treats the facades, a good part of the facades of the buildings with a thermal insulation system. The second contract is the contract for the rehabilitation of the coast. There has been a phenomenon of erosion here for years and practically the sea had come close to the buildings and will be filled with sand, creating a space about 100m wide which will practically make it one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire region due to its width. We are currently working on a third project which is in a conception phase to create tourist service units along this entire new coastline that has been created for us. This completes the entire intervention in this area", - said the director of the Albanian Development Fund, Dritan Agolli.
The promenade will be completed with 520 trees and palm trees which will be planted along its entire length. "For all the frequenters of the Durrës beach and for all those who have been following what is happening for years, thanks to this lady here, the mayor, my friend Ani and with my and our support, and thanks to the Albanian Development Fund, we will expand the beach by taking 100 meters of sea and we will have an extraordinary beach and all that 'eating' that was done to the beach with the rubbish of the years of freedom, democracy and madness will remain history and the entire first generation will automatically gain a much wider beach, while in the middle, the municipality will have its own property where it will create together with the Albanian Development Fund and the National Investment Agency a system of beautiful service points such as those on the most prestigious beaches in the world. "Service points and points for children and the elderly, so that there will be an explosion of tourist life here, as befits Durrës," said Prime Minister Rama.
The project is expected to be completed before the opening of the new tourist season. This part of the Durrës coast has been very depreciated, while with the completion of the intervention, the area is expected to receive a new boost in development.
