Upon his arrival in power, US President Donald Trump has signed a series of executive orders that have altered the established balances on a global scale.
One of these orders provides for the deportation of illegal immigrants in the United States of America.
This order also affects 1,874 Albanians, who are among the 1.4 million illegal immigrants in the US.
Asked in the "Off the Record" studio by Andrea Danglli about the fate of these immigrants, Foreign Minister Igli Hasani stated that he does not support illegality in any case, even when it comes to Albanian citizens.
"We must regulate the opportunities related to the representation of Albanians where they settle. But never illegally," he declared.
On the other hand, the minister added that regardless of who is in power across the ocean, Democrats or Republicans, Albania has a very strong and very consolidated relationship with the United States of America.
"We are one of the most pro-American countries in the world. This relationship is reflected in all areas," he added.
Meanwhile, when asked about the key word and main promise of this election campaign for the Socialists, the "European passport", Hasani stated that it is in their hands that, as he put it, "this dream becomes a reality."
"For us and the EU member states, merit is the main thing and we are trying to show this. That we, because of merit, and not because of any particular configuration, are who we are and we will continue to pedal hard, to complete as quickly as possible what we need to do."
In the integration processes, Minister Hasani emphasized that Albania also enjoys support from Berlin. Adding that with the new German government, the Albanian government will work side by side, so that with the help of the Berlin Process, integration will be as fast as possible. (A2 Televizion)
