The search operation for a worker at a chrome processing factory in the Klos municipality, who was trapped in a mass of soil and inert materials while he was working, has been ongoing for 5 days now, writes A2 CNN.
Since the first day, numerous forces have been engaged in the search for his body. The National Authority for Safety and Emergencies in Mines (AKSEM) is leading the operation with 74 employees and specialized equipment such as thermal cameras and underground scanners. In addition, the Armed Forces have sent 151 officers from several departments, while the State Police has deployed 24 officers on the ground.
535 volunteers from the local community have also provided great support, working alongside two excavators in the most problematic area. The Medical Emergency, the National Agency for Natural Resources and the structures of the Klos and Mat municipalities are also active on the ground.
Due to the difficulty of the terrain, a specialized team from the Kosovo Security Force joined the operation on May 7 with 12 officers and 2 search dogs. The landslide covered a distance of about 6 km in a steep and difficult to intervene area.
The operation remains ongoing, while central and local structures are maximally engaged to find the body of the missing employee. (A2 Televizion)
