Will there be an increase in the price of energy?, the head of OSHEE: Debts of

OSHEE's financial situation is stable and with a record collection level of over 98%. This is what the head of this institution, Enea Karakaçi, said in the studio of A2 Business. According to him, this had the effect of not applying for an increase in the price of energy.

"We have announced that we will not have and have not applied for a fee increase due to the good performance obtained over the years. We are in a healthier financial situation."

But there will be a 30% increase in salaries for the employees of this sector. According to Karakaç, for the first time seniority will also be included in the job. He called on professionals to apply to OSHEE.

Karakaçi said that the decrease in losses was due to the fight against illegal interventions.

"We are at very good levels of collections and reductions of 18.76% losses. It is a record level. Technical and non-technical loss due to network and interference of any kind. The company's uncompromising fight to eliminate illegal network interference has had an impact. Today we are in the best numbers in years".

But for the expert Admir Dulevič, the problem is the debts of institutions, while a reflection from family consumers is noticed. He suggests taking extreme measures for both families and institutions that do not pay. According to the expert, the amortized network is also a problem.

"We cannot say that there will be interruptions or no energy. There will be repairs or defects, I cannot avoid them. There is improvement, but it is unacceptable to have a distribution network with 28,000 km with a lifespan of 38 years. And another element that causes defects in rural areas, we have 6,000 transformers and there are about 11,000 in the whole country and they have been working for 35 years without being replaced and they will definitely break down. It is true that OSHEE's debt has been reduced, but citizens are unable to pay the bills. We also have institutions, road lighting companies, hospitals, water supply companies that do not pay their bills. We have a 3.5% increase in paid invoices compared to 2022. Households have reflected, while companies have not. There must be measures for both families and institutions".

Even the expert Eduart Gjokutaj does not see a positive situation, according to which measures should be taken to pay off the debts, since the failure to clear the balances holds the energy sector hostage.

"Not a positive situation, 64 billion ALL, which is all the company's income. We have financial obligations that have OSHEE where the water supply companies prevail with 28.6 billion and 5.6 billion other institutions. There is a high total to pay. We have a situation related to the exposure of the state budget. Pay off the obligations of OSHEE, the failure to clear the balances holds the sector hostage".

In response to these statements, Director Karakaçi emphasized that he cannot cut off the water supply since he cannot leave the citizens without water. He said there are several scenarios for debts and their resolution.

"We have several scenarios for debits and I believe we will have a solution."

He also spoke about a clear investment plan in all of Albania for the year 2024 where the coast and mountainous areas prevail. (A2 Televizion)
