The government has revised the budget, distributing part of the income created as a surplus to the most vulnerable. At the same time, the measure of the bonus that pensioners will receive in the spring has also been determined.
In addition to the end-of-year bonus, already distributed, seniors who receive a pension of up to 20,000 Lek will receive an additional 10,000 Lek in the spring. Those who receive more than 20,000 Lek pension will receive another 5,000 Lek as a bonus.
From the last review that was made to the budget, the third for this year, the government will also provide financial assistance to vulnerable groups.
A bonus of 15,000 lek will go to families with economic assistance, persons with disabilities and their guardians. In total, the fund for this category reaches 2.2 billion ALL. Meanwhile, an additional fund of 1.4 billion lek will be given to farmers, as well as 1.6 billion lek to support municipalities for the repayment of arrears, as well as in improving the provision of services to citizens.
But how sufficient are these funds to cope with rising prices? This is given that for vulnerable groups, such as pensioners or low-income families, food expenses account for over 60% of the monthly budget.
