The current majority aims to achieve the objective "Albania in the EU in 2030" in the event of winning a new mandate, also through major investments in infrastructure.
With this aim, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, is presenting all the projects, mainly road but also railway, that will be built, to bring Albania closer to EU mobility standards.
Balluku focused in particular on the category A highway, Kashar-Lekaj, where we will have a completely new axis that will connect the north with the south of the country, facilitating access to the coast.
This highway will avoid the capital, but at the same time will be connected to it, through access to the existing Tirana-Durres highway.
"From Kashar to Lekaj we have a completely new track that connects to Tirana, thus creating a 33-kilometer journey like the Blue Corridor with a speed of 130 km/h. Giving access to all northern highways to connect to those in the south without passing through the capital. This segment is completely new. We have 2 tunnels, 6 bridges and 9 underpasses. An infrastructural work complete with all the works of art is not easy. Lekaj-Kashar will be delivered on time with all the main parameters as foreseen in the contract", said Balluku.
The Deputy Prime Minister further stated that by 2027, work will be completed on two vital axes for the north of the country, Thumanë-Milot and Milot-Balldren.
"We have two corridors, the Blue Corridor and Corridor VIII. The Blue Corridor is one of the most important European corridors, a corridor for the transport of goods and passengers. Murriqan-Balldren is an axis that has its own study and we only have to decide on the method of financing this project. The Thumanë-Milot section is a completed project, it is a signed contract, we are in the stage of furnishing the site to start the works directly. Thumanë-Kashar is a completed segment. From June 30 to today, 6.5 million vehicles have passed through. In the span of 2 years, we will deliver Thumanë-Milot and Milot Balldren", revealed Balluku. (A2 Televizion)
