The National Regulatory Commission has approved the request of the Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Elbasan to increase the price of water. In the decision dated June 4, 2025, the WRA finds the company's request to change the tariff level justified.
Thus, the price of water will increase for the municipalities of Elbasan, Librazhd, Belsh, Cërrik and Peqin, writes A2 CNN.
According to the National Regulatory Commission, the company's request is in accordance with legal provisions.
The Water and Sewerage Company justifies the need to change tariffs with the argument of the need to improve financial performance and cover over 100% of operational costs.
"Application for a new tariff level due to the increase in material prices and the minimum wage over the years; Improvement of the quality of services provided by FU and KUN as a result of the anticipated investments; The proposed new tariffs also aim to cover the costs of repairs to eliminate defects or illegal connections, the installation of meters, and the regulation and management of the supply network ," the decision reads.
This decision enters into force on 01.08.2025 and is valid until 31.12.2027.
