Almost 700,000 foreign holidaymakers visited Albania last month, confirming the continuation of tourism even outside the summer season. Data from the Institute of Statistics show that compared to October a year ago, the number of tourists has increased by 89.4 percent.
"This growth will continue. It is coming as a result of the general increase in tourism as a trend even outside the three months of summer", said Flora Xhamani Baba, tourism expert.
Taken over the course of 10 months, the data show that almost 9 million foreigners have visited Albania. In relation to the period of January-October 2022, the number of tourists has increased by over 2.2 million or 32.3 percent.
"We cannot close our eyes and not accept that Albania is experiencing the biggest tourist "boom" ever, but we must say that anyway it decided to use only 30 percent of its capacities", said Flora Xhamani Baba, tourism expert .
According to INSTAT, the majority of foreigners who entered the country between January and October, nearly 96 percent, were from European countries, followed by the United States of America and the Middle East.
"Albania is already part of the destinations of the Western Balkans as an integrated package, as well as separately during the winter months," said the expert.
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment expects that by the end of the year, the number of foreign tourists visiting the country will reach 10 million. (A2 Televizion)
