The end-of-year reward for pension beneficiaries, in the amount of 5 thousand lek, will start to be distributed from December 1. About 687 thousand citizens will be able to receive the bonus together with the monthly pension payment, 585 thousand 809 in urban areas and 101 thousand 114 in rural areas.
The distribution of the payment will be made according to the usual schedule, that is, on the dates when the elderly or other categories of beneficiaries withdraw their pension. The Social Security Institute indicates that the withdrawal of the payment can be made even after December 31, even up to three years after this date.
The fund available for this year's bonus is in the amount of 3.5 billion Lehs, while in 2024 the amount will increase to 3.6 billion Lehs.
From 2022, the year-end bonus has been defined as a separate budget item, without question whether it will be given or not as it was before.
Meanwhile, after receiving the bonus, the elderly in the country will have to wait until October next year to receive some extra money in their monthly pension. Based on the progress so far and the future forecasts for inflation, pensioners will receive even less money than they received in the last indexation, that of October. (A2 Televizion)
