Agriculture, livestock, fishing and aquaculture, agribusiness and agroprocessing, the environment in rural areas, to beekeeping and microfinance.
These are the main sectors that will benefit from the establishment of the Albanian Development Bank. As it has already taken shape through the draft law submitted for public consultation, associations welcome the initiative that is expected to come to the aid of the most poorly financed sectors over the years.
"It is essential that funds coming from Europe, from the state, grant funds, funds provided by development banks, are managed by such a bank. And this draft law, which is already under consultation, is required at all costs," says Agim Rrapaj.
The Albanian Development Bank will be a joint-stock company, 51% of which will be owned by the state. It will provide loans with favorable terms and interests. Other responsibilities of the bank will include providing guarantees, financial investments and developing digital services.
“European investment banks and others were looking for a partner to manage the funds so that the loan interests are not what they are.”
Exporters will also benefit from this bank, to influence the increase in trade volume.
“For exports, it is a necessary element for the development of the agricultural economy and that of the whole.”
The Albanian Development Bank will operate with an initial capital of 10 billion lek and will collect money from citizens who want to preserve their savings. (A2 Televizion)
