Apart from land and air, Albania and Greece will also be connected by a railway. Citizens of the two border states will soon be able to travel by train.
"It will be a railway line, a new track which is Pogradec-Korçë-Kapshtica up to the entrance of the Greek territory", says Erjola Muka from MIE.
Meanwhile, positive signals also come from the Investment Fund in the Western Balkans for the start of works in Durrës-Rrogozhinë.
"Corridor 8 connects the Adriatic Sea with the Black Sea and passes through Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria and has great geo-strategic importance as it crosses three NATO member states", added Muka.
While a number of railway projects are under development, the Tirana-Durres line and the new branch to Rinas airport will be the first to be completed and start operating.
"The works on this line have reached the volume of 80%, while soon the works will start for the construction of 10 new stations that will extend to the entire part of this line", said Muka.
Currently, the length of the railway network in use in the country is about 224 km. In operation are the railway lines Durrës - Librazhd, Gjorm - Kufi and Durrës - Kashar. (A2 Televizion)
