The Energy Regulatory Body gave the green light to the reduction of the price of energy by 1 lek per kilowatt, which in an annual calculation, according to the government, saves 100 euros per year per family.
"Who agrees with the proposal? Agreed! Agreed! Agreed! Agree!”
If you paid 6,840 Lek last February for a bill with 600 kilowatt-hours of consumed electricity, this year you will take 6,120 Lek out of your pocket. The saving is calculated at 720 ALL per month in this case. This is because from next month and at least until the end of this year, a kilowatt of electricity consumed will no longer cost 9.5 ALL, but 8.5 ALL. With all the value added tax, 10.2 Lek will be paid for each kilowatt of energy consumed, instead of 11.4 Lek, reports A2 CNN.
"From the point of view of energy efficiency, we are no longer in the conditions of drastic levels, but the efficiency of the company has increased significantly" , said Petrit Ahmeti, chairman of the Energy Regulatory Entity.
But to benefit from the reduction in the price of electricity, households should not consume more than 700 kilowatts per month. If this band is exceeded even by just 1 kilowatt, then the price of the entire bill will be calculated at 9.5 Lek per kilowatt without VAT or 11.4 Lek with VAT, A2 CNN reports.
"This causes the rest of the consumers to use electricity more efficiently, so that they can enter this type of consumption that will be treated with a differentiated price. Today we are talking about a concept of consumer category, and up to a certain amount it is a price", stressed Ahmeti.
Up to 1 million and 70 thousand family subscribers will benefit from the decision proposed by the government and approved at Wednesday's meeting by the Board of the Energy Regulatory Entity, which make up 95 percent of the total consumers in the country. (A2 Televizion)
