Two people have been arrested after attempting to smuggle goods into the port of Durres.
Edmond Nikolli and Shkëlqim Çuni are the two people in handcuffs, while the value of the goods, which included clothing, equipment, food products, cosmetics and alcoholic beverages, amounted to 50 thousand euros.

They attempted to bring smuggled goods worth approximately 50,000 euros into Albania by bus, and 2 citizens were arrested.
The goods and the bus are seized, as well as the cell phones and passports of those arrested.
Following the work based on the risk analysis, carried out by the Border Police of the Port Durrës BCP, at the entry/exit of the country, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the entrance to Albania, the bus driven by citizens Edmond Nikolli and Shkëlqim Çuni was passed to the second line for detailed inspection.
During the checks on this vehicle, clothing, equipment, food products, cosmetics and alcoholic beverages were found, suspected of being smuggled, as they were not accompanied by purchase receipts.
Following the procedural actions in the case, within the framework of the "Duo" operation, citizens EN, 46 years old, resident of Lezha, and Sh. Ç., 51 years old, resident of Shkodra, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension of customs or excise duties" and "Smuggling of other goods", committed in collaboration.
The procedural materials were passed to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action. (A2 Televizion)
