The Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has reacted regarding the arrest of Safet Bajri in Shkodra, who was arrested by order of SPAK and sent to the Tirana Police Directorate. Bajri is suspected of involvement in several criminal events, including the murder of citizen FL, an event that occurred in the city of Shkodra in 2018.
In a statement distributed to the media, SPAK announced that investigations related to this matter are being conducted under criminal proceeding no. 112 of 2019. The prosecution has requested the imposition of security measures for three suspects, including Bajri, who are accused of the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder" and "Structured Criminal Group".
"The Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, within the framework of the investigations it is conducting for criminal proceedings no. 112 of 2019, has requested from the Special Court of First Instance the imposition of coercive personal security measures.
The Special Court, with decision no. 12, dated 17.02.2025, has decided:
– Assigning the personal security measure “Arrest in prison”, provided for by Article 238 of the Criminal Procedure Code against the persons under investigation BB; AB and SR, suspected of committing criminal offenses; “Premeditated murder” committed in the special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group to the detriment of the victim FL, “Structured criminal group” and “Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group” provided for by Articles 78/2 and 28/4, 333/a and 334/1 of the Criminal Code;
From the investigations conducted within the framework of this criminal proceeding, which is related to several criminal events that occurred in the city of Shkodra in 2018, it results that evidence has been collected on which a reasonable suspicion has been created that the persons under investigation; BB; AB and SR have planned, organized and carried out on 10.08.2018, in the city of Shkodra, the murder with a firearm of citizen F. L, a relative of citizen IL. The motive for his murder is suspected to be related, among other things, to the attribution that citizen BB makes to citizen IL for the murder of his acquaintance, citizen BB,
On 21.02.2025, the General Directorate of the State Police executed security measures for the persons under investigation BB; AB and SR.
