The Special Prosecution Office has reacted to the accusations raised by the Secretary General of the Freedom Party, Tedi Blushi, that the deputy of the Union for Human Rights Party, Vangjel Dule, and the MEP Fredi Beleri, were not allowed to meet Ilir Meta in prison.
"Based on Article 51 of Law No. 81 of 2020 "On the Rights and Treatment of Prisoners and Detainees", institutions for the execution of criminal decisions may be visited by deputies, without the prior authorization of the Prosecutor. In this case, approval is given by the General Directorate of Prisons. Until 15:15 on 31.01.2025, in the protocol of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, no request has been received from citizens Alfred Beleri and Vangjel Dule to meet any detainee," SPAK says in reaction, writes A2 CNN.
