Suspicions that police officials contacted traffic chief Roven Zeka, SPAK seizes

SPAK seizes cameras at the Security Block following the arrest of Roven Zeka, the traffic chief arrested for "corruption", reports A2 CNN. The seizure was made after there was information that police officials had contacted him before he appeared in court for a security measure.

The Special Court has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on Zeka, but also on Edison Tabaku, the Judicial Police officer, and the head of accident investigation, Sokol Novaku, suspected of being involved in the same criminal offense.

During questioning, Tabaku denied the accusation, but did not provide further details. Meanwhile, in an official statement, SPAK announced that the accident, for which it is suspected that bribes were being taken from police officers, occurred on April 16 in the capital, where 5 people were slightly injured in a collision between two vehicles.

According to the investigation, traffic police officers demanded 2 thousand euros from the person who caused the accident, in order not to arrest her. The amount of money was requested to be handed over within a short time. Her husband provided the amount and SPAK has proven that she surrendered to one of the police officers, writes A2 CNN.

During the checks carried out after the arrest of the three police officers, the amounts of 2.5 million lek and 26 thousand euros were also seized. The suspects Zeka and Novaku are expected to appear before the Court on Tuesday for the security measure. (A2 Televizion)
