Dibra Police have arrested the driver of a "Golf" vehicle, who while driving drunk hit a police officer on the road, leaving him seriously injured.
The Blue Uniforms announce that Alban Shoti has been arrested for the incident that occurred yesterday, at the place called "Kryqëzim Velia".
"We inform you that the specialists of the Road Traffic Sector arrested the citizen A.Sh. (M), 27 years old, resident of Dibër, for the criminal offenses of "Violation of road traffic rules", "Driving vehicles in an irregular manner", the police inform.
The 27-year-old hit officer Veli Gjura, while the latter was on duty managing traffic as part of the Democratic Party's closing electoral meeting in Peshkopi.
"The 27-year-old, while driving his vehicle while intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle and as a result the vehicle hit the Police officer, citizen V.Gj., 64 years old, who is in the Trauma Hospital, under the care of doctors," the police further explained.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was also injured in the accident, who is receiving medical treatment at Peshkopia Hospital and is out of danger.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër, for further action. (A2 Televizion)
