The Special Court decided to continue the security measure of "prison arrest" for Kristi Bixheku, suspected by SPAK of being a member of a criminal group led by Laert Haxhiu.
30-year-old Bixheku faced the Special Court almost 48 hours after being extradited from the Netherlands to Albania, writes A2 CNN.
The "prison arrest" measure in absentia against him was imposed in October 2023 by the Elbasan Court, before the investigation of Haxhiu's group passed into the hands of SPAK.
He was remanded in custody as a suspect for the criminal offenses of "destruction of property with explosives", "providing material conditions to commit murder", "structured criminal group" and "commitment of criminal offenses by a structured criminal group".
According to SPAK, Bixheku provided the explosives that were placed in Bujar Turku's house in December 2022 in Lushnje, writes A2 CNN.
In November 2024, SPAK closed the investigations into nine people suspected of being part of Laert Haxhiu's group, accused of 15 criminal events, including 4 murders, which were solved after the statements of the repentant justice official, Artan Tafani. (A2 Televizion)
