Investigations for January 21st, Hekuran Deda's other brother appears

A day after the appearance of his brother Zabit Deda, this morning Agim Deda, the other brother of Hekuran Deda, who was killed on January 21, 2011 in front of the Prime Minister's Office, appeared before SPAK.

Zabit Deda gave his testimony for almost an hour before SPAK prosecutors, who are investigating "January 21".

"We told them what they asked us to do. We hope it will be clarified," said Zabit Deda in a statement to the media, writes A2 CNN.

Today, his brother, Agim Deda, appeared before SPAK, also on behalf of the investigation into the killings during the opposition protest at that time on the boulevard.

Just like in the case of the other murdered man, Aleks Nika, the murder of Hekuran Deda is an unsolved event. In the first trial of the "January 21" file, guard Agim Llupo was accused of his murder, but the Capital Appeals Court cleared him of this charge, leaving Deda's murder without a suspect.

SPAK registered an investigation into “January 21” in July of last year, pursuant to a decision of the Supreme Court. This court forced the Special Structure to investigate a complaint filed by Aleks Nika’s wife against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, former Interior Minister Lulëzim Basha and former head of the Guard, Ndrea Prendi, whom it accuses of “murder under qualifying circumstances”, “abuse of office” and “actions that hinder the disclosure of the truth”.

During an informal meeting with journalists last week, the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, said that intensive investigative actions are being carried out for this file. (A2 Televizion)
