Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, a defendant in the "Partizani" case, has made his next attempt for freedom in the High Court.
According to sources for A2 CNN, Malltezi is challenging in this court the decisions of the two lower courts for leaving him under "house arrest", a measure he has been serving since November 2023.
Malltezi based his appeal to the Supreme Court on the Strasbourg decision in the case "Gëllçi v. Albania", writes A2 CNN.
Referring to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, which, in reviewing the complaint of the former General Director of Albanian Radio-Television, Thoma Gëllçi, found a violation of the Convention for the period of detention, Malltez's lawyers are requesting the abolition of the "house arrest" measure.
