
The former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, has been sentenced to 2 years and 20 days in prison, A2 CNN reports. Goro was found guilty of "abuse of office" and "concealment and failure to declare assets."
The other defendants in this case were also found guilty. Vezir Gjikola was sentenced to 2 years in prison, but with a shortened trial to 1 year and 4 months. While Jerasimo Basho was sentenced to 3 years, but with a shortened trial the sentence was reduced to 2 years in prison.
The court also decided that the seized apartment be returned to citizen Gentian Sula, while the land area, 10 thousand m2, be confiscated and returned to the state.
