Kosovar breaks out of prison and rapes Albanian woman in Italy, arrested

A Kosovar citizen, who had only been released from prison 24 hours earlier, has been arrested by Italian police on charges of forcibly raping a woman in the city of Padua.

The 36-year-old from Kosovo was arrested by police forces after being reported by the victim of this violence, a 37-year-old woman, who managed to escape from the place where she had been held hostage for two days.

The woman told agents that the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning, when she spoke on the phone with a stranger who asked her to come down from the apartment because he had important news to tell her about her 18-year-old son, who he said was in great danger.

Upon going downstairs, the person threatened the woman with a pistol and then forcibly held her in an apartment, only to later transfer her to another.

She says he then consumed cocaine and raped her for 2 hours straight.

For more than two days, the police have been conducting searches in Padua and were able to discover the apartment where the woman was being held hostage, where they also found the accused perpetrator.

The 36-year-old Kosovar had a previous criminal record and had only been out of prison for 24 hours.
