The Special Court of Appeals for Corruption and Organized Crime has today left in force the security measure for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, while the security measure for his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, has been eased, from "arrest in prison" to " home arrest".
The details were given to the media after the end of the session by Sali Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokuatj, who stated, among other things, that there is no place for tightening the security measure against the head of "Rithemel", who must appear before the judicial police two once a month, as well as being banned from leaving Albania.
The legal defender of Berisha repeated the position held by them from the beginning, that the process is entirely politically motivated and that the new bodies of justice are under the control of the head of the government Edi Rama.
Since this issue is political, I would also like to inform you of the report page, where you have both the report and the recording of the proceedings within one day. It is impossible for such voluminous issues to follow this procedure within one working calendar day. We will continue our legal battle. Yesterday's trial was characterized by the harsh language of the Prosecutor's Office and the silence of the judges, who, of course, in that position, do not have an active role.
While, when asked if Berisha will appear on the first Monday of December, Gjokutaj did not give a direct answer.
"We have another session on Thursday about the loss of power. The battle will be long, we will use all our resources."
We remind you that the security measures against Jamarbër Malltez, who is accused of passive corruption and money laundering, in cooperation with businessman Fatmir Bektashi in the "Partizani" file, were executed on October 20.
