The voluminous file of the Italian Special Prosecution and Anti-Mafia Office that A2 CNN has, highlights the influence that traffickers had at Customs Points, not only to smuggle narcotics into Italy, but also people who did not have the relevant documentation.
According to the investigation file, the suspect Pirro Çapi, also identified as Spiro, had a key role in organizing, financing and coordinating the connections between how the drug was transported by land from Turkey, then passing through Kosovo, Albania and then through the port of Durrës to Italy. The narcotics were transported via trucks that Çapi owned.
Another episode in the file is revealed as Naim Beluli, a border guard at the port of Durres, illegally crossed the border with smuggler Edison Çukaj, as he did not possess proper documentation. The intervention in this case was made by Ervis Deti.
The file revealed by A2 CNN shows that for international drug trafficking, the bosses of the groups Adi Çoba, Erigels Presi, but also Gertin Aliu had strong points of contact in the ports. From the wiretaps and observations it results that Gertin Aliu, who dealt with the delivery of narcotics, was often helped by port operators who kept the drugs with them to avoid controls and then deliver them to truck drivers.
A good part of the information about the group led by Xhevdet Troplini, known as Poja, has also been provided by the repentant Nuredin Dumani, who has become a collaborator of justice. "Xhevdet Troplini, nicknamed Poja, is the most important. Then comes his nephew, his sister's son, Visi i Pojës, and his son, Fatmir Troplini," Dumani says in his testimony.
The justice associate says that he had personal contact with the accused and that they had told him that they could smuggle the drugs into the Calabria area since they had contacts there. From the joint operation between SPAK and the Italian authorities, 52 arrest warrants were issued, where 42 people were arrested while 10 others, including the leaders of the criminal group, are still being sought.
On Friday, 14 of them appeared for verification measures at the Special Court. After a marathon session lasting almost 11 hours, the judge left in force the measures of arrest in prison for the 11 detainees of Operation "Bridge", who are suspected of being part of a criminal group that trafficked drugs in several countries around the world. The milder measure, that of compulsory appearance, was assigned to lawyer Armand Tragaj, Ervis Deti and Bexhet Mema. (A2 Televizion)
