It was 4 am this Thursday when residents of the "Student City" area were awakened by the explosion of explosives placed in a vehicle.
"The car owned by doctor Matilda Kaja was parked near a private hospital in Tirana. There were no injuries from the explosion, but only material damage. The police have launched two-track investigations into this incident," reports A2 CNN journalist Xhensila Kodra.
Investigators suspect that the Tritol in the front tire of the vehicle was a form of threat to the doctor. When questioned, Kaja denied having any conflicts with anyone. She hypothesized that the explosive could have been intended for the hospital and not for the staff.
Based on this, the police have expanded the investigation by also verifying the possibility that the perpetrator had targeted the private hospital.
The perpetrator has not yet been identified by investigators, who are reviewing security camera footage to determine his movements. (A2 Televizion)
