The parents of Mark Samson, the 23-year-old who killed his Albanian ex-girlfriend Ilaria Sula in Rome, are apologizing. This was stated by the lawyer of the mother of the arrested boy, who indicates that "the parents are devastated by grief, still shocked and frightened by what happened". Mark Samson's mother is under investigation for collaboration in hiding the body and at the moment no measures have been requested for her.

During questioning at the police station, the woman essentially admitted that she had helped her son cover up the crime from the apartment on Homs Street.
