Murder of Martin Can/ "Closed Door Hearings", Lawyer: We will oppose this decision, we want everything to be clarified

The court case for the murder of 14-year-old Martin Cani will be held behind closed doors, which has been opposed by the victim's family.

"Today was the first session and we will follow the case until the end in detail. The court has decided that the case will be behind closed doors, but we will oppose this in the future, in the next sessions. I believe that it will be a long process and the family wants every detail to be clarified. The interest is no longer only of the families involved, but of all Albanians. We will do everything possible to clarify this event so that tragic cases like this of Martin Cani are not repeated in Albania," said the Cani family lawyer.

"We want it to be a session attended by journalists and citizens," the lawyer added.

The victim's mother stated: "I will fight until the end for justice to be served. We were not notified by anyone about my child's conflict and I will fight for justice to be served and for all children to be protected." (A2 Televizion)
