"The murder was committed in honor of..." - Tafani recounts the execution of Albi Bashaliu by Laert Haxhiu's group: When we wanted to leave, our car wouldn't start

The repentant justice official, Artan Tafani, testified today in the Special Court regarding the murder of Albi Bashaliu by Laert Haxhiu's group.

Tafani declared that Bashaliu's murder would be done in honor of Lorenc Lala, with the aim of avenging his sons, writes A2 CNN.

He further stated that Albi Bashaliu drove a car that sold birds and chickens, while adding that after his murder, the Audi car in which they were going to leave did not start, which led to the perpetrators using the victim's vehicle.

According to Tafani, all members of the group agreed with the murder proposals made by Laert Haxhiu, since according to him, he was the capo of the group and everyone obeyed him.

Excerpt from the testimony in the Criminal Court:

Tafani: I was staying with Laerti because the police were looking for me, we rented a house in Astir, in the name of a friend of Laerti's girlfriend. After the murder of Elton Mermal, we also committed the murder of Albi Bashali.

Tafani: According to them, this murder would be done in honor of Lorenc Lala. We agreed that if Laertes agreed, whatever he said would be done. The murder would be done in Beijing. It would be done to avenge his children. The victim was in a car that sold chickens and birds.

Tafani: I rented a car on Elbasan Road and went to Gjocaj, Peqin, to meet the owner of the problem. I took this boy to Rrogozhina. He would show me where Albi Bashaliu had his house and where he drank coffee. This boy's father had been killed.

Tafani: Earlier, I was with Lulzim and Laerti once in the village of Gjocaj, to see the place, again in a rented car. I took them with a fake license. We had a garage in Astir of Erisiano Abedini where we got an Audi for work, murder, that is. We took that, we also took a Benz with Greek plates and left with two cars. We parked the Benz in Rrogozhina, we were going to burn the Audi. After the murder, we went with Lulzim with guns, we bought a TT from Bledar Berber for 1 million lek, we went to the bar where he was. It was early, 4:30 in the morning, the victim came at 8:00. We had left him how we were going to act. I shot him 2 bullets in the chest and 4 in the back. Our Audi did not start and we were forced to burn it on the spot.
