The fires in the area of the village of Vërnik in the municipality of Devoll continue to be active, although their intensity has decreased thanks to cooler temperatures and the interventions of local structures. The Prefect of Korça, Nertil Jole, together with the Deputy Prefect of Devoll, held a meeting with the residents of the area this evening to closely monitor the situation.
According to Jola, currently in two of the fires, local forces and residents are still working to extinguish the fire. In total, over the past two days, about 150 personnel and 11 vehicles have been engaged, while efforts will resume tomorrow in the early hours of the morning, writes A2 CNN.
"The danger near the border crossing has been averted. The fire on the hill near the road no longer poses a high risk, as the vegetation there is low," said Jole. (A2 Televizion)
