SP MP Damian Gjiknuri spoke on the show "Off the Record" by Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN that with the change in the formula for the opening of the lists, there are about 50 mandates that will be dictated by the open competition.
"I preferred the formula that kept the hers, but a smaller factor, dividing it by 1.5. With the previous formula, there were very few mandates that broke the hers. Now, with the new applied formula, which is a constitutional formula, there are now about 50 mandates that will be dictated by open competition. So, we have a further opening of the list".
He also revealed how many mandates the Socialist Party can win in the May 11 elections. "SP has 40 or 45 mandates with a safe list, while over 40 mandates and 35-40 from the open list, it depends on how much we will win. It is certain that SP's victory in these elections will be even more solid.
This is the truth. The inspiration of this system is based on the fact that MPs with experience are on a closed list and there is definitely an opportunity from open competition, but there is still no decision in the SP, this is still under discussion.
