Democratic Party official, Ilirjana Kuçana, has made a strong statement regarding the current political situation in the country and within the DP itself.
Invited to the show 'Off the Record' with journalist Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN, she said that the party should be more active on the ground and offer solutions not only for the Democrats, but also for the citizens who voted for Edi Rama, who, according to her, are already feeling disappointment.
"The DP needs to think about several scenarios. It needs to be on the ground and in headquarters, to see the solution, not for 500 thousand democrats, but also for those who voted for Edi Rama," declared Kuçana.
She criticized the way Prime Minister Rama's fourth term has begun, describing it as filled with arrogance and arbitrary demolitions, including interventions in housing and tourist areas.
"Today Edi Rama goes, destroys houses, destroys tents, goes there to Theth... The arrogance of the fourth term has begun. Even those who voted for him have understood that...", she said, implying an increase in dissatisfaction even within the left-wing electorate.
Regarding developments within the DP, Kuçana emphasized that many figures must leave to pave the way for change, but excluded Sali Berisha from this list.
"In the DP, many people need to take a step back. But not the one you think, Flogert. I think Berisha should not leave. He is the only one who denounces, who has been throughout Albania, who united the DP," said Kuçana.
She said that she has been part of Rithemelim since the beginning and that her trust in Sali Berisha is the reason why she continues to engage in politics. According to her, Berisha gave the party a breath of fresh air at a time when it was in danger of disappearing. (A2 Televizion)
