The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, asked for help from right-wing parties in Europe to defeat what he called Edi Rama's dictatorship.
At a meeting of the parliamentary group of the European People's Parties in Strasbourg, where he was invited, Berisha said that the Prime Minister is doing everything for a fourth term, even imprisoning the leaders of the main opposition parties in Albania.
"To secure a fourth term, Edi Rama, who came to this institution and gave a speech that was very reminiscent of Hoxha or Gaddafi, decided to arrest three leaders of the main opposition parties for his fourth term. He arrested the chairman of the Democratic Party, placed the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, under house arrest for 330 days on false charges after an investigation that lasted four years. They accused him of having given 400 meters of public land to his son-in-law, while the land had never been public. According to official documents, it was private land that belonged to his grandparents. He was one of half a million people who got back their properties confiscated by the communist regime. Violating every law and every constitution, he was blocked from communicating with lawyers.
But a few months ago, he arrested the leader of the second opposition party, Ilir Meta, as a person under investigation. He was arrested, mistreated in the street, dragged, beaten, without being shown any arrest warrant. The third, the leader of the third opposition party, Fatmir Mediu, a former defense minister, is in criminal proceedings for a case that was tried 15 years ago and there are no new facts.
The regime takes away the opposition's mandates. Edi Rama took away his mandate and arrested Fredi Beleri. He is currently a member of the European Parliament. He was arrested with false testimony, and although he was elected, he was never allowed to take the oath, because Rama wanted at all costs that Beleri not become mayor of Himara. This is because, for mafia interests, Edi Rama had participated in a public property, treating it as his property, while it was not. Thus, Beleri spent a year and a half in prison, was not allowed to take the oath and lost his mandate as mayor.
"A young MP, named Ervin Salianji, had the courage to publish an interception by a brave journalist, which revealed the facts that the brother of the Minister of the Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, was wanted in Italy, because he had been sentenced to eight years as the leader of a cocaine trafficking network in Bologna, and who directed the traffic from Vlora to Italy. The next day, they transferred the minister's brother to Italy, but for five years in a row they did everything to imprison MP Salianji, accusing him of false testimony, although he had never submitted any official documents or evidence," Berisha said, reports A2 CNN.
"International law enforcement agencies from France, the Netherlands, Belgium have discovered the codes of SKY EC, Matrix, EncrochChat, which are encrypted phones with which gangsters in Europe and the world communicate with each other. The second most used language was the Albanian language. The largest concentration of these phones was the prime minister's office building and Edi Rama himself used 3 of them. These agencies brought 1 million transcribed peaces. These transcriptions deal with their deep involvement in the elections, but in Albania, electoral crime has been amnestied. The political justice controlled by Edi Rama does not deal with this crime. So these elections are a process with a large vote-buying machine and a large fear machine that controls the will of the people. During these weeks, the prime minister himself will give 100 euros to every pensioner as a gift for the vote. In addition to this, there is cannabis for the vote, he has distributed 148 licenses to plant cannabis throughout the country. He does not respect any law of the Code Electoral. These are, this is the panorama of Albania, the situation we are in. Now, what are our options?
We have to fight, fight, fight. In a dictatorship, you have no other option. But whatever help this institution can provide, we are very grateful. In two days, the European Parliament, the foreign affairs committee will organize a hearing on Albania. This exchange is a good message that we send to the Albanians for your great interest”, Berisha added. (A2 Televizion)
