The Democratic Party's $6 million lobbying effort in the United States was discussed in the Off-Record studio with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
Dashamir Shehi from the Right for Development coalition calls on the US administration to stop these lobbies in poor and small countries like Albania, as according to him they "enslave their own people".
On Off the Record with Andrea Dangli, Shehi also points out that if the DP were to spend this money on the campaign, it would raise it by 6%.
"They have spent all the money, if they had thrown it at the DP campaign, they would have raised it by 6%. I would appeal to the American administration and the president, if they hear us in the corner of the world; To stop this lobbying work for small and poor countries, because they are oppressing their own people because it is not only the DP that is lobbying, it is the SP and some small parties. We have been lobbying for 20 years, the money is being taken openly and secretly, some with contracts and some without contracts. They cannot buy the image of America because it is ugly for America itself. Those gentlemen who have this work in their hands, should make a law that for small countries and those with GDP like ours; under 7 thousand dollars per capita, lobbying for political issues should be prohibited. I hope that it is not true as news, because it would be morally shameful. From a pragmatic point of view, they should have thrown it into the campaign."
For Redi Muçi from the Together Movement, the 6 million euro lobbying in the US does not prove the patriotism of Albanians as the Democratic Party claims, but its capture.
"Both old parties have their existence tied to the economic oligarchy. Saying 6 million dollars from Albanian patriots is ridiculous, the largest amount a patriot can give is 10 thousand dinars. It does not prove the patriotism of Albanians, but it proves the capture of the DP to do such a useless thing. Ridiculous. Instead of providing solutions to the problems of Albanians," he said on Off the Record with Andrea Dangli.
Endri Hasa from the Euro-Atlantic Coalition shares the same opinion, calling this lobbying absurd, which according to him has nothing to do with the problems of Albanians, but with the personal problems of non-grata. He calls on Albanians to vote them out.
"Nobody cares about the problems of Albanians. Everyone is asking for votes for the problems they have with justice and SPAK. It seems absurd to me that 6 million dollars should be paid to lobby. I don't know for what? For some personal problems that the non grata have. Albanians should throw these people in the trash and give the Albanians the end with their votes." (A2 Televizion)
