Two weeks before the May 11 parliamentary elections, the US Department of Justice made public the Democratic Party's lobbying contract. The act talks about a 24-month agreement with a total value of $6 million, where for each month until April 2027, $250,000 will be disbursed to this company.
The high figure seems to justify the name of the company. The countersignature on behalf of the Americans was made by Carlos Trujillo, former advisor to President Donald Trump, but the other most important name is that of Katie Wiles, daughter of Susie Wiles. The latter holds the position of Donald Trump's chief of staff, a former close associate of Chris LaCivitan.
According to the agreement, the company will help establish contacts with government officials and the US Congress, promote causes such as the fight against corruption and government reforms in line with US-Albania interests, and engage in strategic legal issues on behalf of the DP and the "Alliance for a Greater Albania" coalition, but the real reason, and known worldwide, is the next attempt to remove Sali Berisha's wife.
Politically, this contract seems to favor Sali Berisha in his battle that began four years ago when he was declared non grata by the US, but financially, 6 million dollars is the public budget of the DP in the last six years. Automatically, the question that arises is, where did the Democratic Party find the money? The blue headquarters itself gave the answer in a reaction, stating that all the dollars are donations from the Albanian community in the US. In fact, the money for the first installment was paid by Nuredin Seci, the Albanian-American from Tropoja who lives in New York and is also the guarantor of the lobbying contract.
